Overview

At Gemini Adventures it has been our passion to bring people into the beautiful back country of the Southwest desert since 2003. From lunch the first day to lunch the final day the trip is all about enjoying the world famous single track, the one of a kind views, and the experience of a lifetime with new friends while bonding with your longtime friends. The on trail guides assist in navigation, basic bike repair, wilderness first aid and facts about the beautiful desert and the geology that shapes the land. Our trips are completely catered, offering meals designed to be flexible with any diet. Special requests available. Must have own bike, helmet, water bladder, pack, enthusiasm and an open mind. Our trips start and finish in Moab, UT.

Check individual trips for mileage and difficulty.

Our Philosophy

At Gemini Adventures, our philosophy is to bring backcountry adventures to athletes of all levels and abilities. Our trips are catered around you; from the experienced backcountry athlete to the novice outdoorsman, we strive to make every Adventure Getaway the best backcountry vacation you’ve experienced.

Guides

Our guides love adventure and people, but most importantly they love the outdoors. With years of professional guiding and medical training, our guides will expertly lead your group through the desert and alpine environment of the world famous Kokopelli trail. They enjoy challenging YOU as an athlete and testing your group’s resolve in the rugged landscape of Western Colorado and Eastern Utah. Our guides are not only your on trail experts, but your backcountry chef. Each of our guides has their Utah Food Handlers Permit and they are capable of meeting any dietary restrictions your group may have. There is a minimum of 2 guides on each tour.

Campsites

See the stars like you never have before. Our campsites are in the remote landscape of Western Colorado and Eastern Utah, along the flowing waters of the mighty Colorado River to the aspen laid hills of the La Sal Mountains. We can accommodate groups with little to no camping experience or gear.

“An army marches on its stomach,” – Napoleon Bonaparte.

Our guides consider the backcountry their home, and you their guests. Within this home, the evening air circulates with scents of Dutch oven delights, like seared roasted chicken with rosemary potatoes and peach cobbler. Have dietary restrictions? Our guides have years of catering to the needs of their guests. Our professional guides can meet the needs of: vegetarians, vegans, gluten free/intolerant, dairy free/intolerant, Kosher, Paleo, food allergies, and any other special needs your group or individuals may have. We cater to the group with warm breakfasts, refreshing lunches and gourmet dinners. We will provide lunch from the first day to the last day.

Our guides have extensive medical training, ranging from Wilderness First Responder to National Registry certified Paramedics. The outdoors are their home, and responding to medical emergencies in remote locations is a specialty of our guides. Although medical emergencies are rare, our guides are trained to deal with it all.

Equipment

We supply food, toilets, and trash receptacles. You supply the adventure gear (mountain bikes, running shoes, packs, etc.) as well as your own tent, sleeping bags and pads. No camping equipment? No problem. We can accommodate groups or individuals for an extra fee.

All transportation will be provided from the meet and greet location on the first day to the same location on the last day. Your group should focus solely on the Adventure Getaway ahead, and leave the logistics to the guides.

As all of our Adventure Getaways operate, an on trail guide will assist with navigation and wilderness emergency care. This trip has a maximum capacity of 20 runners and will include fun segments of running totaling between 12-18 miles a day. And there’s always more available for those who want additional exploring!

River Rafting

Dramatic sandstone walls rise above you as you float the gentle waters of Horsethief and Ruby canyons. Camp in tents or under the stars to enjoy the desert sky. Because you won’t see roads on this section of the river, you can hike on trails that are accessible only by the river- a true backcountry setting.

This trip is for people interested in a relaxed pace, or a person who would enjoy hiking remote beautiful side canyons. You can watch for bald eagles, swim in the Colorado River, jump off cliffs or just plain relax. This calm section of river makes for the perfect escape from the anxiety of everyday life.
